This winter has proven to be cold and nasty,but it is almost to an end, soon racing season will be here. Schadewalt racing has decided to not race in the IMSM racing series this year due to some extreme changes made within the series. We will however still be racing, We are in the middle of gathering details for another organization that races locally and looks to be a great replacement for IMSM. Schadewalt Racing is now campaining for sponsors for the 2009 season, below you can click on a link to view the 2009 Schadewalt Racing Sponsor Pack. Now that the season is finally over and we are into the start of Sponsorship Season, we at Schadewalt Racing are working hard at sending out our thank you packs to this seasons sponsors and also sending out Sponsor packs for next season. Over the course of the winter months we would like to have a 8 pt roll cage built and installed in the car, if you own a company that does this kind of work, we are offering a 2 year premium sponsorship with us for this to be performed.
In addition to the cage we are looking for a company to donate a ATI super Damper for a 350 Chevy to us, we thrashed our damper during the last race, anyone providing us will be given a 1 yr full sponsorship deal.

Schadewalt Racing take Runner up Spot in the 2008 IMSM Street Intimidator Points Chase!!!!
First off let me apoligize for the lack of updates in the last 2 months, I have been super busy talking to sponsors for next year and getting the car dialed in for the end of the season races which payed off.
first of the results of the last three races were Byron on 8-24 we went out first round, Byron on 9-07 the nova made it into the finals with a second place finish, and The finals at Great Lakes Dragway on 9-27 gave us yet another spot in the finals with a second place finish, and capturing runner up in the championship Chase.
Congrats to Mark Walter on taking the championship this year.

Freeport Cruise Night 2008.
Last night was a blast as usual, the burnout contest had the highest entry number that I think it has ever had.
Unfortunatly I did not win this year, I think I had it but they say I was beat by a Black Iroc that went later in the night, so congrats to him, I believe his name was Josh.
Ill have video up soon, you can be the judge, I was a real close second if he beat me.
Below is a pic of the nova at the end of my 25 seconds, click to enlarge it.
If you look at this pic against the previous years pics, I easily had double the smoke.

All I can say is Cordova was full of Mixed emotions all the way around.
We had a test run and 2 qualifying rounds and ran the fastest motor passes the car has ever gone.
Our hats are off to the Cordova Staff, the track was prepped great and it was fast, after running a 12.47, 12.48 I thought the nova was ready to go, only needing to slow down just a bit, i lowered the air pressure to create a little extra rolling resistance, and as the air temp cooled down through the night, it ran a 12.37 and went on to breakout in the first round running a 12.3 again.
The loss was a big blow to Schadewalt Racing dropping us to the second spot in points, however it was a great night with no breakage, and running great.
So now that we know the car is in good shape, on to race #5 At Great Lakes Dragway to reclaim the points lead.
With only a week to go until Cordova, things have been up and down and very hectic. After the trans blowout at Byron, we removed the trans and had the bands fixed in it and had it back in the car last weekend. We thought it was fixed and ready to go, however after about a half hour of driving around and testing the trans, reverse was lost. I spent the day removing the trans again, and installed the backup trans. After driving around today for the first time, I feel confident that the nova is fixed and ready to defend the points lead at Cordova.
Thats right, you read it correct, even after going out in qualifying, I still managed to keep the points lead by some twist of fate.
Now however it is close, there is a 10 point gap between 1st and 2nd and 20 pts to 3rd, if i want to keep the lead, Cordova will be the deciding track.
Race 3 at Byron Dragway ended before it even got started. The transmission in the nova decided it didnt like its first gear anymore and toasted it in the second round of qualifying, so we loaded it on the trailer and brought it home to get a transplant before the next race on July 5th at Cordova Dragway.
Wish us luck, were gonna need it now, the points lead has dwindled and we have some real good compitition, this is gonna make for some close racing and a chance at a championship hard with all the unforseen problems coming our way.
Great Lakes was a blast, the nova was running great and we captured the #1 qualifier spot for the second race in a row.
Things were great for Jason until a redlight in the semi's sent the nova to the trailer for the night. Below is the video of the nights runs.
IMSM Race #2
D.R. wasnt as lucky, running a second faster in his second round qualifier from his first. Setting the Dial in on the malibu proved to be tricky, however D.R. could have run the number for the win had he not had the tires spin off the line causing him to be 4 tenths slower then dialed.

Schadewalt Racing is planning a photo shoot at the next race, Look for lots of great pics after June 1 from Byron Dragway.
Also from our camp, Jason Desutter took 3rd place in his 1994 Camaro, and His Brother Devon suffered a first round loss in his Cavalier.

IMSM Racing Series Race #1
IMSM race #1, Byron Dragway
What a race it was, after running a test run before qualifiing, the nova was taken off the track because of some major leaking, we rushed to get the leak fixed and it seemed like we kept running into more problems. After missing first round of qualifing, spirits were down in the schadewalt racing camp.
We managed to get everything buttoned up and make it out for 2nd round and took the top qualifing spot. With problem after problem from each round we managed to some how come out of it all with a 1st place win and the #1 spot in points.
3 weeks until the next race we are going to break down the motor and put in a fresh set of gaskets and check over everything.

Secondly We have added a new racer to the 2008 racing Program, D.R. Tassevigen will be joining us in the 2008 season and beyond and will be campaigning his 1978 Chevy Malibu in the IMSM Street Fighter Class.

And last but not least the Nova has undergone some changes in the last couple weeks, with the addition of a transbrake, some weight reduction, new igntion system and a bunch of new wiring.
with one week left until raceday we are all a little anxious and ready to get out there and see what the changes will equate to on the track.

IMSM has announced the 2008 schedule for the IMSM Drag Racing Series. This year’s schedule will make stops at venues across the Midwest kicking off April 20th at Byron Dragway, The Playground of Power. The series will also see stops at Great Lakes Dragway, and Cordova Dragway Park. This years Schedule will feature four night races, three at Great Lakes Dragway and one at Cordova Dragway Park. The IMSM season concludes its eight race series through the Midwest with the final stop at Great Lakes Dragway for the IMSM season finals.
